Islamic Education- Children Education 2008- Lesson (16- 36): Psychological Education 2: The Phenomenon of Children's Fear.

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Dear brother, this is lesson No. 16 of the series Children Upbringing in Islam, and we are still tackling the psychological education.

The phenomenon of children's fear:

Last lecture we talked about the phenomenon of shyness which might become a disease most of children suffer from due to the harsh treatment they get from their parents. Today, we move to another phenomenon which is fear. Some msh3er tend to deter their children by scaring them of unreal creatures like the ghoul, and one of them might say to her child, "The ghoul will eat you", or they scare them of the bogeyman. This will create unreal illusions and imaginations in the child's mind, and he will become afraid of darkness, of being left alone even for one minute and of sitting in an empty house. This is but ignorance from the side of the parents and instead of solving a problem they create one.

Some fearful things that are installed in man at early age accompany him to his grave:

Dear brother, the painful thing about our topic is that some fears accompany man till his grave. In fact, most psychological diseases, social problems and groundless illusions are rooted during the first seven years of the child's age, given children during this period are neglected in the Muslim world by their parents and might be left to an immature teacher or a maid, who will resort to these kinds of methods to scare the child. The fathers does not know the grave danger that is awaiting his son in the future when he leaves his children's upbringing to a maid or to an ignorant person, or when the kindergarten teacher treats them harshly, scares them or threatens them. In fact, endless psychological diseases will afflict these children due to that.

Allah created man weak to resort to Him and acquire happiness thereof:

Dear brother, I intend to tackle this phenomenon by engaging fathers, so that they will be able to teach their children what fear is. First of all, Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ Verily, man (disbeliever) was created very impatient; ﴿

[Al-Ma'arij, 19]

Impatience is installed in man's creation in the sense that Allah has bestowed upon us the grace of weakness and impatience in order to resort to Him and gain happiness due to seeking protection from Allah. Hence, Allah created us weak:

﴾ and man was created weak (cannot be patient to leave sexual intercourse with woman). ﴿

[An-Nisa', 45]

Due to this weakness we resort to Allah, and as a result we gain happiness.

Getting acquainted with Allah make man stronger:

Had Allah created man strong, man would have done without Allah and would have become miserable due to dispensing with Allah. Therefore, Allah has installed weakness in man, but what proves this fact in the Quran?

﴾ Verily, man (disbeliever) was created very impatient; ﴿

[Al-Ma'arij, 19]

﴾ Irritable (discontented) when evil touches him* And niggardly when good touches him* Except those devoted to Salat (prayers)﴿

[Al-Ma'arij, 20-22]

This means that when man knows Allah the Almighty, and establishes a connection with Him, he will overcome his humane weakness.

﴾Verily, man (disbeliever) was created very impatient* Irritable (discontented) when evil touches him* And niggardly when good touches him* Except those devoted to Salat (prayers)﴿

In fact, irritation is to be severely intimidated, and this weakness is in the favor of man, just like any machine which has a weak fuse in it in order to receive the excessive power instead of the machine, and thus this fuse will melt down and the power in the machine will go off keeping the machine in a sound condition.

As for man, Allah created him weak, because had He not created him weak, man would have never repented to Allah, never got scared, never got dismayed, never gave in to Allah and never regretted anything. This happens to man when he becomes strong, as he most likely will dispense with Allah and forget Him.

﴾ Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.)* Because he considers himself self-sufficient. ﴿

[Al-Alaq, 6-7]

The mother of the Divine Graces that is granted to believers only is security:

I would like first to address the elders with regards to fear. You are a human being and you are concerned about your health, your income, your job, your wife, your children and your future. Man is terrified when he hears all the threats in the news, when there is a siege, when there is a boycott, when there is aggression, when there is an attack and when there are menaces. Also, he fears sectarian conflicts, food scarcity and the high prices of goods.

﴾ Verily, man (disbeliever) was created very impatient; ﴿

[Al-Ma'arij, 19]

This is the way man is created, and it is for his own good that he is created weak.

﴾And man was created weak (cannot be patient to leave sexual intercourse with woman). ﴿

[An-Nisa', 45]

Man's weakness comes from being worried about his provision, his health, his life, his family, his children, his commerce, his job, his future and his country.

﴾Verily, man (disbeliever) was created very impatient; Irritable (discontented) when evil touches him;﴿

Man is very impatient and irritable:

﴾And niggardly when good touches him;-﴿

 Man is sometimes stingy:

﴾ Except those devoted to Salat (prayers)﴿

When you raise your child to establish a connection with Allah, Allah will give you a grace that is given only to the believer, and it is the grace of security. Allah says:

﴾ (So) which of the two parties has more right to be in security? If you but know."* It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping sh3er besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided. ﴿

[Al-An'am, 81-82]

﴾for them (only) there is security﴿

Pay attention to the structure of "For them only", which indicates that security is exclusively granted to them and not to anyone else, and had Allah said, "security is for them", He would have meant that security is for them and for sh3er.

﴾for them (only) there is security﴿

Hence, the mother of Graces from Allah upon believers is security and only for them amongst all other creations this grace is granted. Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they joined sh3er in worship with Allah ﴿

[Aal-'Imran, 151]

Even if you are the most powerful man or the richest man on earth and you were Mushrik, you would be afraid.

﴾ We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they joined sh3er in worship with Allah ﴿

Security and satiety are the two graces that are Divinely favored upon the believer:

The believer enjoys a marvelous state of security, and I swear by Allah, had this state of security been divided among the people of an entire city, it would have been enough for them. Furthermore, the believer might be weak, poor and has limited financial means, but Allah the Almighty casts into his heart the grace of security.

Do not think that the believer is just like anyone else, for he has a unique personality due to being acquainted with his Lord. Also, this personality owns three things; he owns knowledge of the great truth by getting acquainted with the Creator of the heavens and the earth, he is moral and he has beauty within which reflects in owning exalted tastes whether in his house, in his relations, in his picnics, in his settlement and in his travel. Hence, the personality of the believer is knowledgeable, moral and aesthetic.

As I said earlier, the grace of security is given to the believer only.

﴾ (So) which of the two parties has more right to be in security? If you but know." It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping sh3er besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided. ﴿

[Al-An'am, 81-82]

The greatest two graces endowed to man are fullness and security, and the proof is mentioned in the following Ayah where Allah tells us that He favored Quraish with those two graces:

﴾ (He) Who has fed them against hunger, and has made them safe from fear. ﴿

[Quraish, 4]

When Allah wills to punish a group of people, a nation or a town, He says:

﴾ And Allah puts forward the example of a township (Makkah), that dwelt secure and well content; its provision coming to it in abundance from every place, but it (its people) denied the Favours of Allah (with ungratefulness). So Allah made it taste the extreme of hunger (famine) and fear, because of that (evil, i.e. denying Prophet Muhammad) which they (its people) used to do. ﴿

[An-Nahl, 112]

The two great graces man may ever have are fullness and security.

Whoever reconciles with Allah will rejoice the great grace of security:

When you are aware of this truth (that as long as you are a believer, you are granted the grace of security), you will pass it to your son telling him, "Do not be scared son, because when you are connected with Allah, Allah the Almighty will cast security, comfort, optimism and happiness into your heart." Thus, the believer is really happy, and this is the first truth about security.

As you know security versus fear, and whoever turns away from Allah is involved in Shirk and sins, and he will be veiled from Allah, and so he will fear even his own shadow. Can you imagine that some physical heart diseases are the outcome of the fear of having a heart disease? A man was diagnosed by his doctor of cancerous tumor, and when the doctor said to him, "You have only 4 months left for you, so make peace with people around you", this man died the next day out of fear. Hence, man is very weak.

For that very reason dear brother, when you reconcile with Allah, when you establish a connection with Him, when you draw close to Him and when you obey Him, He will give you what you might overlook; He will give you security due to which you become fearless since you are with Allah the Omnipotence, in Whose Hand is the realm of everything and you are with the One Who is Mightier than you and the One Who is closer to you than your jugular vein. Hence, keep in mind that when you are with the Most Powerful, then you are powerful as well.

Security comes from amassed convictions not from saying one word:

It is rather impossible for the believer to fear anything after he reads the following Ayah:

﴾ Verily, those who say: "Our Lord is Allah (Alone)," and then they Istaqamu, on them the angels will descend (at the time of their death) (saying): "Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised!* "We have been your friends in the life of this world and are (so) in the Hereafter. Therein you shall have (all) that your inner-selves desire, and therein you shall have (all) for which you ask for. ﴿

[Fussilat, 30-31]

He is a Great Lord and He is soothing you, so that you will not fear that which is awaiting you in the future, and you will not regret anything in the past.

﴾"Fear not, nor grieve!﴿

Allah gives you security about your past and your future, so you are living your day.

﴾"Fear not﴿

He covers your past when He says:

﴾ nor grieve!﴿

One more thing, Allah the Almighty gives you security about the future when He says:

﴾ Say: "Nothing shall ever happen to us except what Allah has ordained for us.﴿

[At-Taubah, 51]

The believing upright father has this grace, and he passes it to his son by saying to him, "O son, when you establish a connection with Allah the Almighty, He will cast security and confidence into your heart, and so nothing will scare you, simply because all creatures are in the Hand of Allah." Even if the believer sleeps in the wild, he will not fear the scorpion or the snake since he knows very well that they are in the Hand of Allah.

The believer enjoys a marvelous state of security, and this security is a very complicated matter, for it does not come from a word man says to his children, but rather it is the outcome of accumulated convictions he keeps instilling them deeply in their souls and minds.

Parents should teach children that obeying Allah brings His Protection and Help:

Dear brother, man is fearful of almost everything; he fears threats, menaces, bad news, anticipated calamity or tumor. This fear is morbid due to man's remoteness from Allah, but when he offers prayers to Allah the Almighty, Allah will cast security into his heart.

You as a father should tell your son that when he offers a good deed, when he saves an animal from being run over by a car and when he feeds a cat, he will be protected by Allah, so connect the good deed, obedience and offering the acts of worship with the Divine Providence. If you ponder over the following Prophetic Hadith, and if you pay close attention to it, it will fill your heart with security that is enough for an entire town:

((Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I was riding a pillion with the Prophet (PBUH) on a donkey. He (PBUH) said, "O Mu'adh, do you know what is the right of Allah upon His slaves, and what is the Right of His slaves upon Allah?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know better". Upon this the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Allah's Right upon His slaves is that they should worship Him Alone and associate nothing with Him; and His slaves' right upon Him is that He should not punish who does not associate a thing with Him." He (Mu'adh) added: I said to the Messenger of Allah: "Shall I give the glad tidings to people?" He (PBUH) said, "Do not tell them this good news for they will depend on it alone".))

[Agreed upon]

Allah allows you to have a right upon Him.

((I said: "Allah and His Messenger know better". Upon this the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "His slaves' right upon Him is that He should not punish who does not associate a thing with Him."))

The right you have upon Allah is not to be punished by Him. There are lots of manifestations of the Divine punishment, such as intractable diseases, paralysis, car accidents, cancerous tumors, heart infraction, kidney failure, liver cirrhosis, poverty and imprisonment.

((His slaves' right upon Him is that He should not punish who does not associate a thing with Him))

The believer is granted Allah's Support, Protection and Triumph:

Listen to the following Ayat, please:

﴾ Is then he who is a believer like him who is Fasiq (disbeliever and disobedient to Allah)? Not equal are they.﴿

[As-Sajdah, 18]

﴾ Shall We then treat the (submitting) Muslims like the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists and disbelievers, etc.)?* What is the matter with you? How judge you? ﴿

[Al-Qalam, 35-36]

﴾ Is he whom We have promised an excellent promise (Paradise), which he will find true, like him whom We have made to enjoy the luxuries of the life of (this) world, then on the Day of Resurrection, he will be among those brought up (to be punished in the Hell-fire)? ﴿

[Al-Qasas, 61]

 The most delicate Ayah is:

﴾ Or do those who earn evil deeds think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, in their present life and after their death? Worst is the judgement that they make. ﴿

[Al-Jathiyah, 21]

I ask you by Allah, does these Ayat not cast security into the soul? Who are you? If you are a believer, then you have a right upon Allah to protect you, defend you, help you, grant you triumph and support you.

The parents may pass this fact to their children while they are having a meal or during a picnic. For instance the father can say, "O son, if you obey Allah, He will protect you from every evil, He will allow you to enjoy healthy body and He will cast your love into the hearts of people." Thus, connect obeying Allah with the state of security and connect it with putting trust in Him, with protection and with triumph. On the other hand, fear versus triumph, so are pessimism, melancholy, depression, confusion, dullness and boredom, and all of which are painful feelings.

Allah will cast security into the heart of whoever offers good deeds:

Dear brother, reading the following Ayah makes man deeply hurt:

﴾ And most of them believe not in Allah except that they attribute partners unto Him [i.e. they are Mushrikun -polytheists - see Verse 6: 121]. ﴿

[Yusuf, 106]

In fact, the following Ayah is crucial, and it is recommended as e a method to be followed by every young Muslim. Allah says:

﴾ Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision) ﴿

[An-Nahl, 97]

You are dealing with Allah, and this good life He grants is above any circumstances, facts, international hard conditions, threats, poverty, lack of provision, unemployment and expensive real estate. He is Allah Who says:

﴾ Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision) ﴿

By Allah Who is the Only Deity, it is enough for you to read the Quran on daily basis to acquire security in your heart that cannot be removed even by all threats coming from all over the globe, and this is because you are a believer; in other words, you are dear to Allah.

Be upright on Allah's Path to receive goodness from all directions:

 Dear brother, Allah says:

﴾ Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision) ﴿

I happened to have a teacher (may Allah have mercy on his soul, for he passed away) who used to say to any young upright man who was keen on offering Salah, who lowered his gaze, who controlled his tongue and who was dutiful to his parents, "Do not be afraid, Allah is preparing for you a very successful marriage, a nice house and a good income, for you are endeared to Allah."

Once I served a 90 old man a piece of cake, and before eating the first bit he took, he said, "Glory be to Allah Who preordained for me to eat this, and He never forgets anyone from His Favors." I hope that every young man keeps this Du'a "Allah does not forget anyone from His Favors" in mind, for Allah will not forget you, and all you have to do is just to obey Him. Pay attention to this Ayah:

﴾ Nay! But worship Allah (Alone and none else), and be among the grateful. ﴿

[Az-Zumar, 66]

Goodness will come to you from all directions and the proof is in the following Hadith:

((It was narrated that Thawban said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Adhere to righteousness even though you will not be able to do all acts of virtue. Know that the best of your deeds is Salat (prayer) and that no one maintains his ablution except a believer.'"))

[Al-Hakim by Thawban]

﴾ Nay! But worship Allah (Alone and none else), and be among the grateful. ﴿

Your mission is to worship Allah, and upon Allah is the rest, for He will prepare for you a special position, an income, a wife and a house. In fact when I intended to tackle the topic of fear among children, I found it necessary to remove fear from the elders first, because most fathers and msh3er have fear due to the hidden Shirk they are involved in:

﴾ We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they joined sh3er in worship with Allah ﴿

[Aal-'Imran, 151]

﴾ Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision) ﴿

Security is a psychological state and the believer is always optimistic:

Dear brother, the believer is optimistic, and if you try to refute this fact by mentioning the hard conditions, the threats, the expensive prices, the lack of provision, the scarcity of water, the siege, the wars and the sectarian conflicts, I would say to you that "If Allah is with you, who can defeat? If Allah abandons you, who can support you?"

The calamities are countless, but they are the result of fear, so listen to this rule, "Expecting the disaster is a greater disaster." I would like to give you an example of two travelers, and each one of them is enough proof of the fact that security is a precious grace.

If a traveler wants to travel from Damascus to Homs, and while he is driving, he mistakenly thinks that his spare tire is flat, he will spend the two hour trip in a grave worry, thinking that if any of his car's tires goes flat, he will be in a big trouble, so even if he reaches Homs safe and sound, he will spend his trip in worries. Also, if his son fixes the spare tire without telling him, he will go on worrying about it especially if he does not find any mechanic to fix it.
The second traveler travels to Homs, thinking that his flat tire is good, only it is not. This person will enjoy his trip and will have the security without having the reasons for it (because his spare tire is flat). Therefore, from these two travellers we conclude that security is a state of mind, so you might be poor, but you have security whereas another man might own millions, yet he has fears. Keep this Ayah by heart:

﴾ (So) which of the two parties has more right to be in security? If you but know."* It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping sh3er besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided. ﴿

[Al-An'am, 81-82]

Whosoever is with Allah, Allah shall be with him:

A companion had a store, and one day he was told that it was on fire, but he said, "Allah would never let my store be destroyed." Look how sure he was of Allah's Protection, because he used to pay his Zakat. The Prophet PBUH said:

((Wealth is not lost, neither in the land nor the sea, except due to squandering zakat. So secure your wealth with zakat.))

[At-Tabarani by Abi Hurairah]

That Companion was certain of the Divine Province, so he said, "Allah would never let my store be destroyed."As a believer you are certain that Allah spare you from so many disastrous calamities.

The Prophet PBUH was given a medication for pneumonia, so he got angry, and he said:

((Allah will never afflict me with that disease.))

What I want to say is that when you take Allah's Side, Allah will grant you security..

If the father is certain of Allah's Provision and Protection, he is certain that obedience is fruitful psychologically, and he is sure that uprightness will reflect in a state of security, only then he is able to convince his little child of that security and would say to him, "O son, be with Allah and do not worry about anything, for if Allah is with you, who can be against you?" As a father when you say that, you will instill the foundation of security in your son's heart and you will encourage him not to have worries, because Allah the Almighty exists.

He, who is watched over by Allah, will be Divinely protected from every harm:

The clearest example of Allah's Protection is the ordeal of our Master Yunus PBUH. Can any of you imagine himself in the belly of a whale? The usual meal of the whale is about 4 tons, so a man who weighs 80 kilograms is just a snack for the whale or even one bite. The whale's weight is 150 tons (50 tons bones, 50 tons flesh and 50 tons fat), and we can excrete 90 barrels of oil from it. Furthermore, its mild meal is 4 tons, and its baby nurses 300 kilogram of milk each time, so by nursing three times a day, it nurses about one ton of milk every day.

This Noble Prophet PBUH found himself inside the belly of the whale, so is there a graver disaster than this? His chance to make it out alive was zero, and he was in the darkness of the belly, the darkness of the night and the darkness of the sea, which made them three darknesses:

﴾ But he cried through the darkness (saying): La ilaha illa Anta [none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allah)], Glorified (and Exalted) are You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]. Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers."* So We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers (who believe in the Oneness of Allah, abstain from evil and work righteousness). ﴿

[Al-Anbiya', 87-88]

This hardship can be repeated anytime, anywhere, in any era, in any country, under any condition, in any society, in the east, in the west, under the sea and over the sea.

While a man was on a plane over Albs' mountain, it exploded and broke up in two pieces right where he was seated. That man violated the rules as he did not fast his seatbelt, so he fell from the height of 40.000 feet and landed on one of the Albs' forests, the thickness of the snow on the trees absorbed the fall which made him land on his feet safe and sound.

Indeed if the Divine Providence watches over you
Sleep safely for you will be guarded from all fears

By Allah, dear brother, there are similar cases when people are brushed with death but Allah saves them incredibly. Hence, Allah protects you from harm.

Whoever gets acquainted with Allah and fulfills his duties shall receive security:

I would like to remind you of the topic we are tackling today, which is the fear that children have due to wrong methods their parents follow by scaring them of unreal creatures, or bogeymen who might eat them. Such methods are meaningless, and they all result in planting fear in children. As you notice, I am tackling the fear the adults have, before tacking the one the children have. The father has fears, because he does not know Allah, but had he known Him, and had he fulfilled Allah's Duties, he would have gained security in his heart. There are mild bearable disasters, and there are destructive ones, but the person who follows Allah's Path is spared from the latter.

Dear brother, in an Ayah Allah mentions the distressed life that is full of fear and worries. In fact, people are in poverty due to their fear of poverty and they are sick due to their fear of sickness, given expecting the disaster is a greater disaster than the disaster itself. It is worth mentioning there is a difference between security and safety, do you know it? Safety is to be safe when you are endangered, but security is to expect no danger. The believer enjoys both security and safety.

When you pass these delicate facts, you know about Allah, to your children in a simple way like encouraging them to pay Sadaqah to be protected, your children will put their trust in Allah the Almighty. I swear by Allah dear brother, no one buys the pleasure of Allah by paying Sadaqah but will not be let down by Him. Hence, you can buy Allah's Pleasure.

((Charity given in secret in secret extinguishes the wrath of the Lord))

[At-Tabarani by Mu'awiyah]

((Make sadaqa early in your lifetime, (or) begin sadaqa in the early morning of the day, then the affliction of the day will not reach the person, as sadaqa will skip it.))

[At-Tabarani by Ali]

Accustom your son to pay Sadaqah from his allowance, for Allah will accept it from him and protect him thereof.

The spiritual sentiments should be passed from adults to kids:

I hope that every father works on connecting his son with Allah the Almighty, so make your children fear Allah, draw close to Him, long for His Forgiveness, seek His Protection and live the feeling that Allah is with him, protecting him, defending him, granting him prosperity, supporting him, granting him triumph and providing him with sustenance.

A father said to his kid, "Take this 100 Liras and give it to that man as Sadaqah", and he said to him that Allah would reward him ten folds. The kid took the money and paid them to the poor man, and then he said to his father, "Where is the 1000 Liras?" The father said to him, "What 1000?" The kid answered, "We paid him 100 and you said we would receive ten folds, so we shall receive 1000." The father said, "Well, this 100 is mine, not yours." The father swore by Allah that while they were walking, he met his friend, and the latter liked his son so he kissed him and gave him 1000 Liras.

He is a Great Allah, and He wanted to encourage this little boy to keep paying Sadaqah, and He did not disappoint him. Hence, you should connect your son with Allah the Almighty and assure him that Allah will protect and give him, so that he will not fear any threat or menace, and he will not fear his friend at school who threatens him and who might set up an ambush for him on his way back home, simply because he feels secured.

I hope that the spiritual sentiments the adults have and which cast security into their heart are passed to kids. Consequently, they will not fear darkness, night, being alone at home, threats or any unreal creatures like the ghoul or the bogeyman. Ignorant msh3er commit endless foolish mistakes which root fear complexes in their children that accompany them on their life path.

Turning away from Allah and His Remembrance is one of the major reasons of fear:

 Dear brother, Allah says:

﴾ "But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship,﴿

[Ta-Ha, 124]

The main reason of fear is to turn away from Allah's Reminder.

By Allah, dear brother, people are extremely worried about their health. According to reliable statistics, one out of every 8 women has breast cancer, and this fact frightens women and leave them in great worry, but the believer woman who wears Hijab, who is upright and who fasts, offers prayers, obeys her husband and looks after her children has security in her heart, and she puts her trust in Allah that He will protect her from this disease, and Allah on the other hand is generous to whoever makes Du'a to Him.

((Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Your Rabb (Lord of the Universe) is Modest and Generous, and would never turn the hands of a slave without gain when he raises them to Him (in supplication).))

[Abu Dawod and At-Tirmizi by Salman]

The gist of religion is to establish a connection with Allah:

We should make Munajat (talking with Allah secretly), and ask Him our needs; ask Him for forgiveness, repent to Him, give our pledge to Him and have a hotline with Him. Some believers are just like a phone that is out of order, so though it is beautiful and expensive, you cannot make any call with it, whereas other believers are like a humble phone, but it is usable, and this is how you should be. In other words, you should establish a connection with Allah (hotline) by making Du'a (supplication) resorting to Him, asking for forgiveness, making Munajat and reciting the Quran. Do you want Allah to talk to you? If you want so then read the Quran.

Do you want to talk to Allah? If you want so then make Du'a and make Munajat, for when you make Du'a, you talk to Allah, and when you read the Quran you are addressed by Allah. Keep in mind that the gist of religion is this connection with Allah, and as long as you are connected to Him, He will cast security into your heart.

For the last time allow me to repeat this fact: Allah casts security into the heart of the believer that is enough for an entire town. Last but not least, the following Ayah is very crucial regarding this point:

﴾ (So) which of the two parties has more right to be in security? If you but know."* It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping sh3er besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided. ﴿
