Islamic selected passages (10): A basic rule for winning the love of those around you
   
 
 
In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful  
 

Praise be to Allah, The Lord (The One and Only) of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Master Muhammad, the Truthful and the Faithful.

The father is respected all over the world, and so is he in the Islamic culture, but this is not enough. Heroism is being loved, not just respected. How do you gain this love? You gain it with Ihsan (benevolence). 

(O Dawud! Remind My worshipping servants of My Ihsan, for souls are molded to love those who do Ihsan to them and hate those who wrong them.)

The people of Homs (a governorate in Syria) embraced Islam as individuals and groups, not because of the depth of the Da'wah (Characteristics of the call to Allah by actions), because of its miracles, or because the Da'iyah (Islamic missioner) was eloquent. The reason was Ihsan. The Islamic army did not abuse the females or take Haram (unlawful) money during the opening of Homs.

When our Master Salah ad-Din al-Ayubi wanted to buy things in Jerusalem, he never made use of being victorious after opening Jerusalem and defeating the crusaders, but rather he bought things at their exact prices after the other party of the war left the city.
